This presentation is about the connections between shamanism and altered states of consciousness through the use of psychoactive substances, to the modern concept of Unidentified Flying Objects and the various mythological aspects associated with "UFOlogy" - and the alien abduction phenomenon in particular. Harvard psychiatrist John Mack, who studied many individuals reporting such experiences with strange entities, found that such people exhibited no signs of mental aberration and as such he was forced to take them seriously. Joe Lewels was a close friend of John Mack and had a working relationship with him - having traveled to various regions of the world with him to study shamanism and UFO/ET encounters. In this lecture, Joe Lewels brings up several groundbreaking scholarly works, ranging from Dr. Rick Strassman's "DMT: The Spirit Molecule" to Jeremy Narby's "DNA: The Cosmic Serpent". He bridges this information about mystical states and visionary experiences that stimulate the pineal gland in the human brain, to the enigmatic accounts of so-called reptilians and alien greys and abduction encounters. Shamanism meets UFOlogy - an intriguing and profound union!
